Maintenance Manager
Overview:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for managing the Production Maintenance Team to ensure the repair and maintenance of all production and packaging equipment. The scope of responsibilities includes managing the Preventative Maintenance Program, trouble-shooting downtime and inefficiencies, and managing a staff of Maintenance Technicians, Specialists, and the Maintenance Coordinator (including MRO purchasing). The position will also work closely with process improvement staff, the Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Quality, Safety, and Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the Maintenance department to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the production facility, while limiting downtime associated with equipment failures
Continually manage the work assignments of the Maintenance team based on priority and urgency, while ensuring the proper materials are available to complete necessary work
Verify work performed by the Maintenance team
Ensure appropriate staffing for the Maintenance department on an ongoing basis and work with HR as needed to maintain headcount
Manage Maintenance department personnel and conducts routine performance appraisals to build team capabilities
Identify and organize training for Maintenance department personnel, both in-house/on-the-job and 3rd party
Drive the advancement of the department to support the growth of the plant in areas such as new technology, reassessing existing programs/processes/procedures, etc.
Maintain the preventive maintenance program and creates new PMs as required with new equipment
Track equipment wear, part lifespan, maintenance activities, and repairs to establish data-driven maintenance and/or repair frequencies with an emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance
Coordinate/plan with plant production scheduling department on needed equipment/line shutdowns to perform required preventative maintenance
Implement and lead the maintenance of CMMS software
Work with the Safety team to ensure safety of equipment and processes completed by the Maintenance team
Work with process improvement staff to coordinate special projects and engineer solutions to remove obstacles for the plant
Responsible for managing aspects of the capital budget that pertain to maintenance and production equipment, including by not limited to identifying capital projects, working with vendors and internal departments to plan and execute projects, calculating payback and justifying project need, and generating proposals for capital expenditure approval
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the maintenance budget and ensuring an ongoing balance of costs and benefits as it pertains to equipment repairs, maintenance, and spare parts inventory
Coordinates with other departments to optimize resource use and streamline pathways to resolving issues
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members and actively participate in and effectively lead team/department meetings and initiatives
Requires extensive electro-mechanical aptitude, including a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Apply formulas and mathematical concepts and to use them in product and process development
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work habits required
Involves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipment
This position involves periodic bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
Must have full use of arms and legs to climb stairs and ladders to access all areas of the plant and offices
Push or pull with up to 50 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
Able to stand on and/or walk up to 10 hours per day
Must be able to detect audible tones and alarms
Must be available to travel occasionally
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a related field required
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Robotics and automation experience preferred
Proficient with the following software: Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project)
Experience with PLC Control Systems preferred
Experience with EAM/CMMS Software preferred
Pay Range: USD $80,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
