Research AssociateLocation: Boston, MA Cellens, Inc., a Tufts University biotech spinout company, is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and highly motivated Research Associate to join our company. We’re founded on a mission to impact human health by developing the first bio-inspired diagnostic applications of atomic force microscopy (AFM). We are developing a pipeline of revolutionary tests through atomic force microscopy and machine learning. Research & Development at Cellens is multi-disciplinary, integrating surface science, cell biology, and data science to address important unmet clinical needs. The candidate’s main responsibilities include:The Research Associate will help with the design, development, and implementation of lab experiments, including running studies to verify our analytical methods, processes, and procedures as part of our testing method for a novel cancer diagnostic product. Cellens focuses on quantifying the bio-physical characteristics of cells using atomic force microscopy and its fast-scanning modalities. Overall job expectations and responsibilities are as follows.·     Lab Operations and Maintenance:o  Operate and maintain lab instruments, ensuring their proper functionality and calibration.o  Prepare samples for AFM imaging and measurements, including sample mounting, surface cleaning, and modification.o  Conduct scientific experiments and data acquisition, adhering to established protocols and experimental design.o  Analyze clinical data to extract relevant information and generate accurate, insightful reports.o  Troubleshoot and address issues with lab instrumentation as they arise.o  Collaborate with researchers and scientists to design and optimize lab experiments for specific projects.o  Stay current with advancements in cancer detection technology and methodologies to suggest improvements and enhancements.o  Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians or researchers in lab techniques.o  Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results.o  Ensure the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials by safety guidelines.·     Analytical Research & Data Analysis:o  Maintaining records of basic laboratory experiments and protocols to identify problems and recommend possible courses of action.o  Work with teams on statistical modeling and data analysis, data visualization, and preparation of study reports, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.o  Assist in technical collaborations with external partners (academic, government, and industry partners).o  Prepare materials and report findings at data meetings, and internal and external team meetings with partners.o  Assist in reviewing reports and document experiment results to prepare for publication in medical journals.Qualifications:Must have:-      B.S, M.S. in physics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline-      Direct experience of working in BSL2 lab environments is required.Preferred:-      An ideal candidate should also have prior experience in bioanalytical sample preparation, method validation, quality control systems.-      Knowledge of machine learning is preferred.If you’re interested, please submit your CV/resume to contact@cellensinc.com
