Job Title: Instructional Aide - Library Exemption Status/ Test: Non-exempt Reports to: Principal Department/ School: Bay City Junior High Minimum Salary: $12.52/ hour Annual Work Calendar Days: 187 Days Primary Purpose: The Library Aide ensures smooth and efficient operation of the Library and sets daily priorities based on knowledge of the overall function of the library and performs work as required or assigned. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to assist in instructional reading and writing Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work well with children Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional SupportPlans, initiates and carries to completion, clerical, secretarial and administrative activities related to the operation of the school's libraryMaintains student library use records and accounts including overdue notices and the collection of finesShelves books and other library materialsMaintains library materials inventoryReceives and processes new library materialsSupervises and trains student library aidesSupervises students in the library Student ManagementHelp Supervise students throught school day, inside and outside of classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground dutyMake teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students Other 9. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance 10. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned 11.
