High Energy Activities director

Company Description: The Care Collective at Cathedral of the Rockies is a social, non-medical respite care ministry serving adults with mild to moderate dementia in Boise, Idaho. The program provides an engaging, community-oriented environment for participants, offering activities such as music, games, service projects, and socialization. Sessions currently run on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and include a family-style lunch and all activities for a flat fee. The Care Collective is heavily supported by trained community volunteers who interact directly with participants, and a third program day will be added in August on Mondays. The Care Collective provides meaningful engagement for participants while giving caregivers dependable, affordable time for self-care.Role Description: The High Energy Activities Director is currently part-time, 12-18 hours on-site role based in Boise, Idaho. More hours may be available as the program expands. This activities director is responsible for enthusiastically planning and leading engaging program activities for adults with mild to moderate dementia. This role designs and facilitates high-energy, movement experiences, including music, games, creative projects, and social interaction that promote connection, joy, and a sense of purpose. The director coordinates weekly and future expanded session schedules, prepares materials and spaces, and ensures that activities are safe, inclusive, and tailored to participant abilities. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with staff and volunteers, providing direction and coaching to volunteers, and creating an inclusive, fun, interactive and welcoming space. QualificationsDemonstrated ability to maintain a high level of energy, positivity, and patience in a fast-paced group setting.Strong interpersonal and Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, compassionate listening, and the ability to engage diverse participants, caregivers, staff, and volunteers.Ability to be on your feet for the majority of the session.Ability to work on-site in the Boise Metropolitan Area during program hours and occasional special events; ability to meet any required background check or screening standards.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation, preferably with older adults or individuals living with dementia, including the ability to adapt activities to varying cognitive and physical abilities.Proficiency in Event Planning for small group activities and special events, including scheduling, coordination of resources, and collaboration with volunteers and community partners.Background or education in recreation therapy, social work, gerontology, psychology, or a related human services field is preferred.Experience working in respite care, senior services, dementia care, or faith-based community programs is a plus.
