HR Support Specialist - Tampa Hybrid

Role Summary
The HR Support Specialist provides operational and administrative support to the Human Resources function and actively coordinates and supports employee training and development initiatives. This role is ideal for someone interested in growing their career in learning and development while building a strong foundation in HR operations. The position supports employee lifecycle processes, HR systems, benefits administration assistance, compliance documentation, and training program coordination.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administration
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding logistics and documentation
Prepare and process employee job changes, status updates, and HR forms
Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and personnel files
Generate routine HR reports and audits for data accuracy
Support HR documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures
Training & Development Support
Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and learning logistics
Manage training calendars, invites, and attendance tracking
Support onboarding training and new hire learning paths
Maintain training records and LMS data (if applicable)
Assist with training communications and materials distribution
Support evaluation and feedback collection for training programs
Help track training participation and completion metrics
Employee Support
Serve as first point of contact for general HR and training-related questions
Route employee relations matters to HR leadership as appropriate
Provide guidance on policies, benefits enrollment, and basic HR processes
Benefits & Compliance Support
Assist with benefits enrollment and employee education
Coordinate I-9 processing and compliance documentation
Track required HR notices, acknowledgments, and training compliance
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, training coordination, or administrative support
Strong interest in training, learning & development, or employee development
Experience working with HRIS, LMS, or employee records systems
Strong organizational and project coordination skills
Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience coordinating training programs or workshops
Exposure to onboarding or new hire training
Experience in a scaling or small/mid-sized organization
Familiarity with learning platforms or training vendors
