Lead Software Engineer

Overview In this senior IC role you will lead the architectural design and hands-on delivery of complex software within Crestron’s product ecosystem. You’ll drive cross-disciplinary engineering efforts, mentor engineers, and serve as a technical authority to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions. You partner with hardware, firmware, QA, product management, and cloud teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end results. You’ll shape engineering practices, evaluate new technologies, and communicate progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders. ResponsibilitiesLead architectural design and full-lifecycle development of scalable software features and systems across Crestron productsMentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and guidanceCollaborate with hardware, firmware, QA, product management, and cloud teams to define interfaces and integration pointsResolve complex cross-disciplinary technical challenges with strategic planning and risk mitigationDecompose features into tasks, estimate timelines, and manage delivery with attention to schedule and prioritiesEstablish coding standards, processes, and participate in architectural reviews to improve workflowsEvaluate new technologies and lead proof-of-concept efforts to boost quality and efficiencyProduce technical documentation including designs, API references, and runbooksCommunicate project status, risks, and technical tradeoffs clearly to executives and stakeholders Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred5-10 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated lead-level contributions5+ years leading software projects or teams in a product-focused environment3+ years in cross-functional Agile teams delivering commercial hardware/software productsProficiency in object-oriented and/or functional programming; .NET preferredStrong system design and software architecture knowledge (microservices, APIs, distributed systems)Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC best practicesCross-functional collaboration and technical communication with hardware, firmware, and QA teamsExperience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practicesMentoring and coaching engineers to foster technical growthMentoring and coachingCross-functional collaborationTechnical communicationObject-oriented and/or functional programming.NETSystem design and software architecture (microservices, APIs, distributed systems)
