Assistant General Manager (AGM)
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites AFA Northgate is seeking an ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of operations, while providing support to the General Manager and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that all IHG brand standards are being met in each area of the property.
Manages the operations of all departments and provides assistance where needed.
Performs required yearly Quality Audit with the General Manager.
Effectively maximizes profit and minimizes costs.
Promotes sales by responding to leads, creating group contracts and placing focus on local sales.
Is consistently punctual and maintains work attendance.
Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
Ensures effective, timely, and accurate communications flow with regards to hotel policies and procedures.
Completes team member evaluations in a timely manner.
Interview, hire, and train team members.
Leads by example and is readily accessible/available to all employees.
Builds strong working relationships and communications with all hotel team members to ensure maximum operating effectiveness.
Assists team members in completing their job duties.
Constructively coaches and counsels alongside department supervisors.
Takes initiative to resolve any guest or team member concerns.
Provides excellent customer service to guests by demonstrating professionalism and positivity.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or four years equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in hospitality management.
2+ years hotel Front Desk experience.
4+ years customer service experience.
Availability to include weekends.
Must be able to work all shifts and be flexible in the number of hours worked.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to stand for 8 hours (accommodations can be made for all ADA qualified candidates).
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
