Materials TechnicianJob Category: Materials ManagementFull-TimeOn-site1401 Industrial Dr Statesville, NC 28625, USAJob DetailsDescriptionPrimary Responsibilities & Duties:Receiving & Incoming Material ControlUnload, receive, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and ERP system dataInspect shipments for damage, shortages, or nonconforming materialsAccurately process receipts in ERP/SAP systemSegregate, label, and report nonconforming materials in accordance with company proceduresInventory & Material ControlPerform cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracyInvestigate inventory discrepancies and support root cause analysisMaintain proper material identification, labeling, and FIFO complianceStore materials in designated warehouse or production locations to support efficient flowMRO, Tooling & Spare Parts ManagementMaintain MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) inventory and spare partsMonitor min/max levels and communicate replenishment needsTrack fixtures and tooling inventory, ensuring availability and proper conditionReport missing, damaged, or worn tooling and coordinate replacement or repairProduction Support / Material FlowStage and delivering materials to production areas based on schedule and prioritySupport line-side replenishment and internal material movementCoordinate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing teams to resolve material-related issuesSupport production environments with time-sensitive material delivery requirementsShipping & Logistics SupportPick, pack, label, and stage finished goods for shipmentVerify accuracy of outbound orders and documentationSupport on-time delivery (OTD) requirementsMaterial Disposition & Problem ResolutionSupport disposition of nonconforming materials (scrap, rework, return-to-vendor)Identify and communicate material shortages or risks that could impact production or shipmentAssist in root cause analysis for recurring material or inventory issuesGeneral ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S standards)Complete all required documentation accurately and on timeCommunicate effectively across departmentsPerform additional duties as assigned to support plant operationsRequired Education & Experience Requirements:Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required in materials, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environmentHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred Education & Experience Requirements:3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferredExperience with inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and ERP systems (SAP preferred) strongly preferredSkills and Abilities:Experience in materials, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing operationsKnowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, and material handling processesExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)Ability to operate forklifts or powered industrial trucks (certification preferred or obtainable)Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production schedulesBasic problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and liftingAbility to lift up to 35 lbsExposure to manufacturing environment conditions including noise, dust, and temperature variationOccasional outdoor exposure (heat, cold, rain, etc.)Required use of PPE: safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection as neededOvertime may be required to meet production and shipping demandsPerformance Expectations (KPIs)Inventory Accuracy (%)Cycle Count Completion and Variance ResolutionReceiving Accuracy (quantity, damage, documentation)Picking Accuracy (shipping)Material Availability to Production (no line disruptions)Dock-to-Stock TimeAdditional InformationThis job description outlines the general responsibilities of the role and is not intended to be all-inclusive.
