Software Development Manager

About the role We are seeking a highly capable Software Development Manager who combines technical leadership with strong hands-on development skills. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of modern software architecture, SaaS development, and cloud-native technologies. They bring at least 10 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of leading high-performing teams and managing complex technical programs. Key Responsibilities: Hands-On Software Development & Architecture · Design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable software systems. · Contribute directly to development efforts across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure). · Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern technologies (Python, Node.js, React, TypeScript). · Conduct regular design and code reviews to ensure engineering excellence. Team & Program Leadership · Manage and mentor a growing team of software engineers. · Lead sprint planning, architecture discussions, and day-to-day development activities. · Foster a culture of technical ownership, accountability, and collaboration. · Drive project execution, with speed, quality, and technical debt management. Cloud Infrastructure & Security · Architect secure cloud solutions leveraging AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.). · Work closely with security teams to implement best practices in cloud security and compliance. · Lead threat modeling and guide secure development practices within the team. Required Skills and Qualifications: · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering · Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and architecture. · Certification in AWS or other relevant technologies. · Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a software engineering team. · Expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) · Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. · Experience in Python, Node.js · Experience In database design and building data intensive applications. · Strong proficiency in React JS and TypeScript. · Experience with SaaS development and deployment. · Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. · Experience in Computer Vision / AI / ML · Experience in healthcare integration and standards (e.g. FHIR, HL7) Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year Benefits: Health insurance Paid sick time Work Location: In person
