We are seeking a highly motivated, polished, and detail-oriented Deputy Chief of Staff. If you want to be an integral member of a team that is disrupting Uber and cares about making a difference for gig economy workers, then we'd like to hear from you.Role Overview:As the Deputy COS at Empower you will work very closely with the Chief of Staff and the CEO to support the overall growth and success of Empower. You will work with various teams within the organization to ensure the CEO's vision and directives are communicated and executed effectively. You will be tasked with creating copy, project management, legislative tracking, event management, supporting operations, and cross functional collaboration. You will work closely with Empower's CEO and senior leadership.This is an in-person role based out of McLean, Virginia.Detailed Responsibilities:Directly manage strategic initiatives targeted towards progressing the company's legislative objectives including working directly with lobbyists, press, and elected officialsWork cross functionally to own and executive strategic company initiativesAssist with the planning and execution of advocacy campaignsCraft copy for hundreds of thousands (soon millions) of usersAssist in the hiring process by managing candidate pipelines and communicationSupport the Chief of Staff in various tasks, including meeting preparation, managing the office, and managing the CEO's scheduleTake ownership of special projects assigned by the CEO or Chief of StaffHelp drive the company's charitable engagementsAssist with creating and sharing engaging, issue-focused social media contentCandidate Requirements:Bachelor's or other 4-year degree2+ years of post college professional experience (experience on the Hill, on a campaign or at a law firm are a plus)Strong copywriting skillsHighly organized with a bias for actionDetail focused and able to manage multiple projects at onceAbility to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced startup environmentStrong communication skillsMaintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive company information and executive discussionsPresent yourself with the highest degree of professionalismWhat Do We Offer?Competitive Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 base salary + equity + performance based bonus + benefitsBeing part of a great team to better the lives of millions of peopleAccess to C-Suite and other senior team members across all departmentsNo dull or unchallenging daysUnlimited growth potential
