Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Dublin Work with us in the Dublin office, attending site three days per week and working remotely two days per week. Responsibilities Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the contracting entity’s cost control processes, procedures and policies. Develop, implement and maintain the overall cost management strategy for the programme. Review and provide input into proposed contractor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost control, expenditure management and budget performance. Oversee the management of variations, including monthly cash‑flow forecasting, assessment of amendments and variances, retention management and the application of liquidated damages where required. Provide oversight and advice to the risk team on the financial implications of identified and emerging programme risks. Monitor anticipated final programme costs, reviewing, challenging and approving forecasts prepared by the cost management team. Establish and maintain clear escalation routes for cost‑control matters, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Support the contracting entity in the assessment and response to contractor claims, as required. Ensure the programme delivers optimum value for money throughout procurement and delivery. Develop, implement and maintain robust processes, systems and administrative procedures to support the timely, accurate and consistent production and dissemination of cost reports across the contracting entity. Foster effective working relationships with the supply chain and the wider industry, including contractors, consultants, suppliers and relevant professional bodies. Provide specialist commercial advice and expertise in relation to claims and disputes arising under construction and consultancy contracts. Review schedules of rates and/or bills of quantities prepared by cost consultants to support the development of pre‑tender estimates and budgets, providing recommendations and commentary as required. Review and approve monthly post‑contract valuations, including cost reports, variation orders and final accounts for individual work packages. Qualifications Degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management. Professional qualification – registered on the Statutory Register of Quantity Surveyors in Ireland and, preferably, Chartered with RICS or SCSI. Excellent IT skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools.
