Logistics Specialist
Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist oversees outbound and inbound LTL shipments—both domestic and international—ensuring accurate documentation, compliant packaging, and timely transport. This hands-on role supports receiving, packaging, warehousing, and shipping operations while meeting company service, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, schedule, and process all outbound LTL shipments and inter-site material transfers.
Coordinate and schedule inbound freight; verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing lists.
Ensure all outbound orders meet quality and accuracy standards; report any non-conformities.
Confirm customer requirements (ship date, carrier, documentation, special instructions) are met or exceeded.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with domestic and international carriers and parcel providers to optimize cost, service, and reliability.
Lead receiving activities, including unloading, inspection for accuracy/damage, and processing receipt transactions.
Verify inbound and outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring accurate counts and proper documentation.
Investigate and resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies.
Coordinate daily priorities with the Warehouse Manager, adjusting to workload demands and exceptions.
Train and mentor team members on SOPs for shipping, receiving, picking, quality checks, and LTL processes.
Operate forklifts safely and provide forklift/MHE training and certification to employees.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, following all safety protocols.
Provide cross-functional support to Parts Fulfillment, Shipping, Receiving, and related teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of domestic and international LTL freight shipping and logistics experience, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with logistics systems, carrier portals, and Microsoft Office; NetSuite experience is a plus.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
2–4 years of forklift operation experience; current or previous MHE certification required.
Ability to work in a typical ambient-temperature warehouse environment.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
