Phlebotomist 2 - USFTGP Tampa Palms ClinicResponsible for collecting blood samples in accordance with hospital and laboratory policies, and federal, state, and local regulations. Tasks include labeling samples appropriately and logging all information related to tests performed and samples taken into a database and ensures the lab is ran efficiently while quality patient care delivered. This position reports to the phlebotomist lead.Essential Functions:Collects and appropriately labels all specimens and secure collection by the correct lab to provide order accuracyEstablishes and maintains a smooth lab schedule and ensures the accuracy of patient orders to maintain efficient work flowMaintains the lab inventory and ensures expired supplies are appropriately removed to prevent any disruptions in quality careExplains blood draw procedures to patients and answers any questions about the process and may assist in patient outreach as requested to drive patient care engagementEffectively communicate with clinical staff and providers related to patient needs and respond to changes in patient conditions while under care, escalating to other clinical staff and/or provider when necessaryKnowledge and understanding of all POC equipment to provide accurate results when utilized (perform EKG's as requested)Maintains overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols, to allow for optimal experience of careQualifications:Completion of Phlebotomy CoursePhlebotomy CertificateBasic Life SupportPrimary Location: TampaWork Locations: Family Care Center Tampa Palms 16011 Tampa Palms Blvd. W.
