Family Office Accountant

The Family Office Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a high-net-worth individual and related entities. This role supports accurate financial reporting, bill pay, cash management, tax preparation, and coordination around estate and gift planning. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, discretion, and prior experience working in a family office or high-net-worth environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage bill pay and accounts payable, including vendor payments, credit cards, and tracking recurring expensesMaintain general ledger accounting for individuals, trusts, LLCs, partnerships, and other related entitiesPrepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summariesOversee cash management, bank reconciliations, transfers, and liquidity planning across multiple accountsPrepare or coordinate the preparation of individual, trust, partnership, and entity tax returnsPrepare and file gift tax returns (Form 709) and support annual gifting strategiesAssist with estate planning administration, including trust accounting, asset tracking, and coordination with attorneys and advisorsMaintain accurate records for investments, real estate, and other assetsServe as a point of contact with external CPAs, tax advisors, wealth managers, and legal counselEnsure compliance with internal controls, documentation standards, and confidentiality requirementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a family office, high-net-worth, private client, or public accounting environmentStrong experience with bill pay, financial reporting, and multi-entity accountingWorking knowledge of individual, trust, partnership, and gift tax filingsFamiliarity with estate planning and trust administrationProficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and ExcelCPA or CPA-track preferred but not requiredHigh level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
