Compliance Engineering Intern

Generac’s Compliance Engineering Intern is responsible for working with various teams to fulfill engineering duties and assist with projects as needed. Under supervision of engineers, the intern will work to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly and service processes. Participants develop technical skills through challenging assignments and usage of technical tools.Major ResponsibilitiesReview and validate product certifications and regulationsDevelop and implement certification record system in the PLM (windchill) systemAssist in development of compliance training modulesResearch and update compliance notes on critical component drawings, work with remote design center for updatesCollect and create a real-time end of line compliance data lake for product validationProvide certification and compliance support in the Industrial, Commercial, Residential and/or Retail products Including reviewing certification plans for completeness and relevance to projects requirements. Interfacing with internal company personnel, Provide technical support for assigned projects.Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize compliance process. Support compliance team goal initiativesTravel to other Generac facilities as necessaryOther duties as assigned.RequirementsEducationCurrently pursuing a BS degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering).Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesMicrosoft Office experience (including Excel, Word, Power BI, etc).Proficient oral and written communication and able to write clearly and succinctly to get a message across.ABILITY TO WORK FULL-TIME DURING THE SUMMER – 40 HOUR WEEK; POTENTIAL FOR WORK OVER BREAKSPreferred Job RequirementsEducationPursuing BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, Chemical or Civil EngineeringCompletion of at least Freshman year of educationKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesUnderstanding or working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD experience, preferred.Understanding of a Product Lifecycle Management (windchill) system
