Lead Machine Learning Engineer – PyTorch & Performance Optimization

* Deep software engineering experience with expert Python* Strong hands-on PyTorch experience, including performance-oriented work (e.g., profiler usage; understanding tensor layouts/ops behavior)* Demonstrated performance engineering discipline: a repeatable loop of profiling → hypothesis → change → before/after evidence* Solid understanding of how code maps to CPU/GPU execution (parallelism, memory bandwidth/latency, data movement)* Experience owning improvements in a large, long-lived codebase where correctness and maintainability matter (not just prototypes)* Ability to lead through influence: mentor others, raise the engineering bar, and drive alignment across functions* Strategic thinker and independent problem solver—comfortable with ambiguity and high-stakes problem solving* Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences and stakeholders* Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and qualityExperience with Monte Carlo/ numerical computing (finance / actuarial is a plus)Familiarity with actuarial projections; annuities and quality
