Database Administrator – DB2 z/OSLocation: New York, NYPosition: 9-Month Contract-to-HireJob Description:Seeking an experienced DB2 for z/OS Database Administrator to design, implement, and support enterprise database solutions. The role will focus on database performance tuning, object migrations, production support, automation, and maintaining highly available and reliable DB2 environments.Key Responsibilities:Administer and optimize DB2 for z/OS databases for performance, availability, and reliability.Support database migrations, production issues, and application performance tuning.Collaborate with technology teams on automation and operational improvements.Manage incident, problem, and change processes.Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.Create technical documentation and provide guidance to junior team members.Participate in off-hours/on-call support as required.Required Qualifications:7+ years of DB2 for z/OS DBA experience in an enterprise environment.Strong experience with DB2 for z/OS v12+, preferably v13.Experience with Broadcom Database Tools Suite.Experience managing multi-terabyte databases and high-volume OLTP applications.Strong knowledge of DB2 Data Sharing environments.Expertise in logical/physical database design and SQL/application performance tuning.Strong knowledge of DB2 DDL, utilities, security, and maintenance.Extensive experience with Mainframe JCL and REXX.Understanding of SDLC and enterprise database best practices.Experience with VS Code, Python, and Git; exposure to AI technologies is a plus.
