Manufacturing Engineer | Precision Optics | Medical Device ManufacturingA growing global medical device manufacturer focused on advanced ophthalmic technology is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support precision optical lens fabrication and assembly operations. This role partners closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes, support production, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.This is an opportunity to work on highly precise products that support vision care while contributing to process innovation and manufacturing excellence.Key Responsibilities• Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for precision optical lens fabrication and assembly • Develop and maintain metrology processes used to measure optical lens assemblies in production • Partner with optical design engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable at scale • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support quality and long term product reliability • Lead manufacturing improvements including sourcing equipment and establishing new processes • Provide day to day production floor support by troubleshooting build issues and improving yields • Work with optical component suppliers to optimize product delivery and qualify new suppliers or components • Create detailed manufacturing work instructions and process validation documentation • Implement new manufacturing technologies and automation aligned with business goals • Design tools and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency • Develop manufacturing approaches for optical components using existing or newly proposed equipment • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot equipment or process failures on the production floor • Drive continuous improvement related to process efficiency, yield, production rates, and cost • Maintain project documentation and communicate updates during project status meetings • Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce variability and improve yield • Support capital equipment planning, evaluation, and implementation • Maintain compliance with quality systems and medical device regulationsMinimum Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline • 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer • Experience designing and implementing machines, equipment, or manufacturing processes in production environments • Hands on problem solver able to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles • Experience with root cause analysis techniques • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple organizational levels • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems • Experience driving productivity or cost savings initiatives • Strong collaboration, influence, and change management skills • Experience developing or optimizing Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings • Basic project management experiencePreferred Qualifications• Experience with optical manufacturing processes such as grinding and polishing • Hands on experience working in an aspheric optical manufacturing environment • Familiarity with optical metrology equipment such as interferometers • Experience with machine programming • Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab
