Job title – Tech BA with JavaLocation- Berkeley heights, NJ – 5 days onsite a weekHire Type – Long Term contractJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Java. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements while leveraging their development experience to support solution design, system integrations, and technical discussions.The candidate should possess a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, APIs, databases, and enterprise application architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.Conduct requirement elicitation workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process mapping sessions.Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and process documentation.Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.Participate in solution design discussions leveraging prior Java/.NET development experience.Analyze existing applications, integrations, and business processes to identify improvement opportunities.Support API, web services, and system integration requirements analysis.Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.Assist QA teams in defining test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and supporting UAT activities.Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams.Perform data analysis and validation using SQL queries when required.Ensure requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/Technical Business Analyst.Prior hands-on development experience in Java/J2EEtechnologies.Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.Knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP services, microservices, and system integrations.Experience with SQL and relational databases.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Technical SkillsDevelopment TechnologiesJava, J2EESpring Boot, Spring MVCWeb Services (REST/SOAP)Business Analysis ToolsJIRAConfluenceAzure DevOpsVisioLucidchartDatabase TechnologiesSQL ServerOracleMySQLPostgreSQLDocumentationBRD (Business Requirements Document)FRD (Functional Requirements Document)User StoriesUse CasesProcess Flow DiagramsWireframesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience with enterprise application integrations.Knowledge of microservices architecture.Relevant certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Scrum certification, or Agile BA certification.Key CompetenciesRequirements Gathering & AnalysisStakeholder ManagementTechnical Solution AssessmentProcess ImprovementData AnalysisAPI & Integration AnalysisAgile DeliveryCommunication & Presentation SkillsExperience5–10 years of overall IT experience.2–5 years of Business Analysis experience.Prior development experience in Java applications is mandatory.
