About the CompanyArcher is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We design, manufacture, and operate an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.About the InternshipThis 10-week full-time summer internship will be based at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, California. Relocation or housing will not be provided.What You'll DoSupport the design, build, and implementation of flight hardware, test stands, procedures, and reports for qualification, certification, and production applications.Contribute to landing gear, brake system, wheels, and tires team responsibilities.Collaborate on the technical direction of designs with the Landing Gear team, managing delivery, conformity, test, and certification.Perform performance analysis, e.g., braking energy, multibody dynamic landing analysis.Write, review, and conduct tests at the equipment and system level.What You NeedCurrently in your 2nd or 3rd year of college.Knowledge in mechanical design and CAD drawing generation.Experience with Siemens NX CAD and Simcenter FEA tools is a plus.Knowledge of kinematic analysis and optimization.Understanding of structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods.Ability to thrive in ambiguity.Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong organization and project management skills.Eager to learn, positive attitude, and highly motivated.Engineering student design team experience (Baja SAE/Formula SAE) is an asset.Experience working with hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, torquing, etc.) is an asset.Program DatesMay 26, 2026 – July 31, 2026June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026CompensationTarget base pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Location & HousingPosition is located at Archer in San Jose, CA.
