For direct access to CEMEX Career Opportunities, visit us at https://jobs.cemex.com/.Job SummaryResponsible of coordination, production, and revision of the development and execution of the detailed civil/structural engineering, required in the approved projects by technical department; complying with the established standard requirements of quality, cost and time; applying the methodologies, procedures and specifications of the civil/structural engineering department.Job ResponsibilitiesParticipation in project drafts through the preliminary execution of geo-technical evaluations and constructability reviewsElaborate preliminary and final foundation and structural steel requirements for the buildup of investment budgets in the draft stagesElaborate all the necessary information and documentation (requests, comparison charts, recommendations), for the hiring of the detailed engineering and services, based in specifications of the engineering departmentCoordinate the execution of all the basic civil/structural engineering to develop during the project and its subsidiariesCoordinate, supervise and manage the making of the detailed civil/structural engineering, follow up of the schedules to be completed according to the master schedule and correct any deviationsReview the calculations for civil/structural design from third-party engineering firmsVerify the compliance of norms, standards and design specifications of the designers and engineering buffetsRevise all the civil/structural engineering information, drafts and certified, from the third-party engineering firmsDevelopment of job concept catalogs for the bidding process and hiring for constructionTechnical participation and support of the construction department regarding construction situations that may be requiredParticipate actively during the construction and commissioning of the projectAssist training and development courses, to keep the performance updatedRequest necessary field information of the group plants or its subsidiaries, to give continuity to the projects, avoiding possible interferences in the installations of new utilities and upgrade of building positions or existing utilitiesDirect supervision of Civil/Structural Engineers, including workload planning, coaching, and performance evaluationQualificationsEnglish Language ProficiencySpanish Language Proficiency (Desirable)Civil/Structural Engineering Master's Degree.Professional Engineering PE License (Mandatory for FL, TX, CA), and desirable for (TN, CO, GA)8-10 Years Prior Experience in Projects Execution (Engineering development & Construction).Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong leadership skills.Solid understanding of engineering drawings and files.Must understand fabrication drawing preparations and interpretation and construction drawing preparations and interpretationComputer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, SAP, Staad Pro, & 3D Modeling, AutoCAD, Solid Works, BIM.Soft Skills: management, presentation skills, public speaking, self-motivated.Working ConditionsContinuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.Must wear protective equipment while at the locationTravel estimate 40%-60%Physical RequirementsRequires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to some degreeExerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionallyWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipmentLegal NoticesCEMEX is an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital or familial status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by under federal, state or local law in the programs or activities which it operates.CEMEX will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all local, state and federal laws.CEMEX is an E-Verify participating employer.Arizona Smoke-Free Act.
