C. § 1531.Successful completion of Praxis II exams.Experience teaching in secondary grades in a diverse, suburban school environmentRelevant teaching experience preferredExperience teaching students with diverse needsA global citizenship and collaborative mindset Experience working in a multicultural/multilingual environmentAdditional qualifications and/or alternatives as deemed necessary by the Board of Education and AdministrationEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Deliver standards-aligned instruction in an approved Delaware CTE Allied Health pathway, such as Biomedical Sciences, Therapeutic Services, or Patient Care, in accordance with Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) requirementsImplement a sequenced program of study that prepares students for postsecondary education, industry credentials, and careers in healthcare fieldsIntegrate Delaware CTE standards, technical competencies, and employability skills into daily instructionPrepare students for industry-recognized certifications aligned to the pathway (e.g., CNA, CPR/First Aid, or other approved credentials, as applicable)Utilize hands-on, lab-based, and project-based learning experiences that simulate real-world healthcare environmentsMaintain a safe and compliant classroom/lab setting, adhering to OSHA standards, infection control protocols, and all relevant health and safety regulationsDifferentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English learners, and varying skill levelsAssess student performance using multiple measures, including technical skill attainment, and maintain accurate records in accordance with DDOE and CTE reporting requirementsParticipate in and support the implementation of Delaware's CTE accountability systems, including program monitoring, data collection, and continuous improvement processesCollaborate with school counselors, administrators, and CTE coordinators to support student enrollment, pathway completion, and career readinessDevelop and maintain partnerships with local healthcare providers, postsecondary institutions, and industry stakeholders to support work-based learning opportunitiesCoordinate and/or supervise work-based learning experiences such as clinical placements, internships, job shadowing, or supervised agricultural/clinical experiences, in alignment with Delaware CTE guidelinesSupport the operation and engagement of a program advisory committee to ensure alignment with current industry standards and workforce needsIntegrate career readiness skills, including professionalism, communication, teamwork, ethics, and confidentiality (HIPAA awareness), into instructionMaintain required CTE educator credentials and participate in ongoing professional development to remain current in both instructional practices and healthcare industry trendsCommunicate regularly with students, families, and stakeholders regarding student progress, program expectations, and postsecondary opportunitiesPerform other duties as assignedStandard RequirementsFavorable Criminal Background Check Favorable Child Abuse Registry Check Tuberculin Test Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck Important Application InformationInterested applicants must apply online and upload:Letter of interest Resume Proof of certification Most recent job evaluation Three professional references (supervisors or managers) For assistance with the application process or to request a paper application, please contact the OCS Human Resources Team at 302-516-8000Application ProceduresInternal Candidates:Qualified applicants must complete an online application or submit a current resume with license/certification information.
