1st & 2nd Shift Assemblers - Grand Rapids MI$19.50-21/hourLocated in KentwoodGo direct after 90 daysJob DescriptionJoin our team as an Assembler where you will play a crucial role in assembling large HVAC units at one of our state-of-the-art facilities. You could be working at Plant 2, 3, or 4, all of which are equipped with the latest manufacturing technology. We offer two shifts: the 1st shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and the 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 2 AM, Monday to Thursday, which includes a $2 per hour shift premium. While overtime is voluntary, it may become mandatory with notice from the production supervisor.Perform repetitive assembly work in one of the 7-9 stations, receiving training specific to the station based on need.Remain on your feet for most of the workday, assembling large AC units designed for commercial buildings.Adapt to changing work assignments and stations as per customer needs.Utilize hand tools and power tools to assemble different components of the AC units.Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in safety training during the first week.Engage in brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and conducting quality checks once fully trained.Report any malfunctions or defects to the production supervisor.Learn to understand and interpret blueprints.Contribute to the testing of units before they are dispatched.Essential SkillsAt least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting.Physically inclined with the ability to lift 40 lbs repetitively, up to 44 times per shift.Willingness to climb into large AC units for assembly purposes (not considered confined space by OSHA standards).A positive attitude and a willingness to learn from ground zero.Additional Skills & Qualifications1 year of assembly experience is preferred.Experience with hand tools and power tools.Electrical experience.Mechanically inclined.Why Work Here?We are proud to offer exceptional benefits that start from day one once you become a direct employee.
