They are building a modern, cloud-based analytics platform leveraging Microsoft Fabric and a Delta Lakehouse architecture to deliver scalable, high-performance, and real-time business insights.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Data Architect to play a key role in defining enterprise data architecture, establishing best practices, and shaping the future of data management across the organization.The RoleThe Lead Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide data models that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting. Working closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and technology leaders, you will develop scalable, governed, and high-performing data solutions while driving enterprise data standards and best practices.This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in modern data architecture, Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and enterprise data modeling methodologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop enterprise data models that support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.Define and implement best practices for data modeling within a modern Lakehouse architecture.Architect scalable, high-performance, and governed data structures using Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault methodologies.Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements and translate these into effective data models.Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to implement logical and physical data models within Microsoft Fabric and Delta Lake.Establish enterprise data governance practices, including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality standards.Develop and maintain canonical data models across key business domains.Guide ETL/ELT design and implementation within a Medallion Architecture to ensure performance and data integrity.Create and maintain enterprise data modeling standards and documentation.Review and optimise existing data models to improve scalability, maintainability, and business alignment.Evaluate and recommend data modeling and metadata management tools.Required Experience7+ years' experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, or Database Design.Strong expertise in dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake), relational modeling, and Data Vault.Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases including SQL, NoSQL, and Delta Lake.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture.Experience designing enterprise data models for analytics, reporting, and operational workloads.Advanced SQL skills with experience in query optimisation and data analysis.Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration strategies.Experience working with Azure data technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.Desirable SkillsExperience implementing Data Vault methodologies.Familiarity with enterprise data governance platforms such as Alation, Collibra, Ataccama, or Atlan.Knowledge of Kusto Query Language (KQL).Experience with graph data modeling and NoSQL platforms such as Cosmos DB.Exposure to machine learning feature stores and analytical model design.Experience with business intelligence platforms including Power BI or Tableau.What's on OfferOpportunity to define and influence enterprise data architecture at scale.Work with modern cloud technologies including Microsoft Fabric and Delta Lake.Collaborate with senior business stakeholders on high-impact data initiatives.Join an innovative, forward-thinking technology team delivering enterprise-wide data solutions.Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and excellent career development opportunities.If you're passionate about enterprise data architecture, modern data platforms, and building scalable, business-driven data solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
