Project Engineer

Overview In this role you will manage energy-efficiency projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring schedules and deliverables align with requirements. You’ll coordinate in-house and external resources, navigate licensing, safety, and code compliance, and oversee design documents, budgets, and change orders. Work with engineers, customers, and vendors to align scope and timelines, enabling successful project outcomes. This position offers exposure to utility and commercial energy deployments with meaningful impact on efficiency initiatives. You collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable energy solutions. ResponsibilitiesManage project/construction lifecycle from initiation to closeoutCoordinate in-house and external resources for all project activitiesEnsure licensing, permitting, safety, code compliance incorporatedDevelop and manage design docs, budgets, forecasts, bid documents; evaluate proposals; award recommendationsNegotiate contract change orders and coordinate construction sequencing and site outagesReview project documentation (drawings, specs, reports, budgets, schedules) and update risk/asset registersPerform occasional emergency response outside normal hours Key requirementsProject management experience in electrical, mechanical, structural and/or water projectsProven success in managing technical and commercial aspects of medium-sized projectsCollaborative and team-oriented with vendor/stakeholder relationship buildingAbility to develop project plans, timelines, and coordinate with customers, contractors, permitting agenciesExperience with codes, standards, regulations, budgets, costs, and project management softwareAbility to perform engineering calculations and prepare specifications and design packagesCollaborativeRelationship-buildingCross-functional communicationProject management for electrical, mechanical, structural projectsBudgets and cost forecastingDesign documentation and specs
