Charge/Mental Health Technician

What We Offer: Base pay of $19.50/hr, plus $1/hr shift differential when working as charge. $3/hr stipend (through approved grant period) when working on Residential. Professional development and training/certifications. Responsibilities: Ensure appropriate daily staffing in accordance with CDHS-mandated staff-to-client ratios by scheduling, adjusting coverage, and providing on-the-floor support as needed. Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment by consistently monitoring program areas, addressing behavioral or safety concerns, and prioritizing the physical and emotional well-being of youth and staff. Lead crisis response efforts, including de-escalation, lockdown procedures, fire and safety drills, and immediate coordination with on-call supervisors, law enforcement, or emergency medical services when necessary. Provide guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to Mental Health Technicians and other staff; ensures adherence to policy, encourages professional development, and promotes consistent quality of care. Uphold all CDHS Volume 7 standards related to incident reporting, client supervision, physical intervention, and documentation timelines; ensures reports are accurate, reviewed, and submitted on time. Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the charge log, including incident reports, staffing updates, safety concerns, and any changes in client status. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm Qualifications: A 4-year college degree and at least one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred; however, the following substitutions will be considered: A high school diploma or equivalent plus at least two (2) years of experience in the human services field. A high school diploma or equivalent plus 30 semester hours of college credit and at least one (1) year of relevant experience. Qualified Medication Administration Personnel Certification (QMAP), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. CPR/First Aid Certifications, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Demonstrated skill and experience in crisis intervention. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with expected Mental Health Technician duties. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities. Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency’s clients and staff. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust. Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam. Must be at least 21 years of age. Why Griffith Centers?
