Job DescriptionNEEDED: Radiology TechnicianLOCATION: 5756 Hartford & Pointville Rd, Joint Base MDL, NJ 08640SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 32 hours per weekQUALIFICATIONS:US CitizenMust be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Should also be licensed by the state of Pennsylvania.Must have at least three or more years of experience. Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. JOB DUTIES:Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff.Transmit, retrieve radiographic images and reports electronically, and scan reports into Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.Possess  knowledge  of  basic  emergency situations that may occur  during  special radiographic procedures.Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.Independently perform all radiographic imagingCoordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.Act as liaison between radiologist and medic staff.Receive training and orientation ·and comply with techniques as they pertain to medical services.Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.Wear outer protective clothing and abide by the Center for Disease Control universal precautions.Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiology Technician.Computerization and printing of daily logComputerization and printing of exam requisitionsComplete all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff in a timely manner.Notify medical staff of orders approaching due dateTransmit x-rays to radiologist for   interpretationTranscribe or scan results to BEMR for physician reviewPossess the ability to identify significant findings that should be urgently reported to the Primary Care Provider TeamAssist with biennial FDA radiation survey and preparation for Program Review, American Correctional Association (ACA) certification, and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)Perform Biannual quality assurance test on shields, aprons and glovesReview dosimeter badge reports and maintain recordsMaintain all clinical competencies required by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
