Job Summary: As a Database Administrator at 3Core Systems, Inc., you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our clients' databases. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of database systems to ensure they meet the business requirements and operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database management systems, a strong understanding of data architecture, and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues. Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS), ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement necessary optimizations to ensure high availability and performance of databases. Backup & Recovery: Develop, implement, and manage database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime in the event of data loss. Security: Implement and maintain database security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, including upgrading and patching database systems as necessary. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing timely support to internal teams and clients. Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate database maintenance tasks and improve operational efficiency. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including data models, configurations, and maintenance procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development and deployment projects. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with hands-on experience in managing relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization. Experience with database management tools and monitoring solutions. Strong understanding of data security principles and best practices. Familiarity with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or AWS Certified Database - Specialty are preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
