Designer
The Position: DesignerWe’re looking for a Designer with strong illustration skills to join our team to create design systems for brands spanning consumer packaged goods, spirits and craft beer, hospitality, outdoor adventure, elite motorsports, footwear, and more.This is a full-time role, based in Austin, Texas.To be successful in this role you must be able to take key strategic brand tenets and convey those stories visually through design and illustration. You'll be responsible for developing creative for several brands at a time, working under the direction of senior-level designers and creative directors. The primary responsibilities of this job involve producing exceptional, strategically sound, and unique designs and illustrations. This includes a full range of project types, including brand identity, packaging, merchandise, signage, interactive web experiences, and more. Secondary responsibilities include working with team members from multiple departments to execute design extension and production. RequirementsExperience creating exceptional brand identity and design systems Illustrating in a range of styles and for a variety of project needs 2–5 years of agency work experienceAbility to interpret brand strategy, research, and client feedback to create visual solutions and meet project needsMust be able to articulate and present design thinking amongst the internal team and directly to clients in a clear and thoughtful mannerStrong use of typography and refined typesetting capabilitiesPassionate about great design, detail-oriented, and ideas-drivenManage multiple simultaneous deadlines and projectsAbility to work within a variety of programs, including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign with a high degree of proficiencyAbility to work collaboratively with a small and cohesive team of designers, writers, brand managers, and web developersBe able to listen and interpret design direction in order to execute a concept or build within existing brand vocabularyExperience working with packaging and print production preferredProcreate, Animation, Figma, and/or signage experience is a bonusAbout Helms WorkshopHelms Workshop is a full-service branding agency specializing in consumer goods and hospitality since 2010.
