Growing together.As a per diem, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will work up to 19 hours/week in a variety of shifts. There are no regularly scheduled hours for this positionAbout the Facility: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art 456 bed facility featuring the newest technology in the field of patient care. It is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center, three Family Health Centers, and the only Burn Center serving the San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, and Mono countiesAbout the Pharmacy: Arrowhead provides both Outpatient and Inpatient Pharmacy Services. The Inpatient Pharmacy is open 24/7, 365 days/year, while the Outpatient Pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-9:00pm and weekends and holidays from 8:00am-7:30pm. The pharmacies utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and FSIPrimary Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistAssist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyPrepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standardsDeliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsMaintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesSupport medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationCollaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryComply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCurrent California certified pharmacy technician license in good standingProficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualification:Pharmacy technician experience in a hospital pharmacy settingExperience with IV/sterile compoundingEffective communication skills; verbal and writtenPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
