Including but not limited to – year-round Island sand leagues and associated tournamentso Overseeing all aspects of league operationsMarketing/Registration/Payment/Scheduling/Communication/Trouble Shooting/General Programming Improvements/Database management/All aspects of day-to-day operations.o Summer league management (seasonal outdoor leagues in addition to the regular, indoor year-round leagues)o Managing part time staff (seasonal/year-round/referees)Hiring/Training/Scheduling/Development/Payrollo Overseeing weekly court rentalsCoordinating with coaches/managing online scheduling system/assisting players booking courts/invoicingo Maintaining facility and courtsRegular odd cleaning/maintenance to help ensure the Island operates smoothly.o Managing inventory, equipmentIn tandem with other VOTR/Island staff, ensure sufficient merchandise on hand for tournament prizes and enough equipment on hand to replace old/broken parts (nets, lines etc.) around the facility, ordering new merch/equipment when necessary.Primary job duties represent approximately 80% of overall expectations.Secondary Job Duties Includeo Support for all additional league/tournament programming* not listed in primary duties.Including administrative and on-site supporto General administrative tasks within a shared office settingo Special projectsSuch as packing trucks and trailers for tournaments or leagues*This position will be expected to be on-site for tournaments outside of the Denver area including major mountain tournaments (Vail, Steamboat, Snowmass, Breckenridge, Fraser) and Mexico trips (Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo). As well as director for tournaments at both Island/Oasis facilities.Working Days:The ideal start date is May 18th.Typical work week for this position is Sunday – Thursday in the office and running leagues with Friday/Saturday off. These weeks comprise 60+ percent of working weeks. Other weeks, primarily when tournaments are scheduled, will require working some weekends and evenings with hours varying depending on the specifics of the tournament.Qualifications:Our preferred candidate will have the following qualification:1) Bachelor’s degree in sports/events/recreation/tourism management or related field2) 1-2+ years’ experience in sports/recreation/events setting especially in a customer service/support role3) 1+ years marketing print/email/social media4) Working knowledge in excelThere is a significant physical component in this position and candidates should be able to lift and carry 60-100 lbs of equipment. In the summer, we regularly carry up to 72 lbs of nets in the park. At tournaments we set and strike equipment including stereos, speakers, tents, nets, ice chests, and crates of prizes. On our Volleyball Vacations, we erect 10-25 nets on a beach in tropical heat.Compensation and benefits:This will be a salaried position with a salary range of $45,000 – $52,000 annually.Bonuses – Full compensation range includes salary plus bonuses earned through working major events.Vacation – 2 weeks paid vacation annually.“Flex” Vacation Days – 4 to 6 additional “flex” vacation days annually for worked major tournaments and Mexico trips.401k plan – Company sponsored with 4% match after 6 months.Supplemental Insurance – As a relatively small company it is cost-prohibitive to provide full medical insurance to our employees, however we do offer supplementary insurance through AFLAC.
