Controls Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer II to participate in project teams responsible for designing, purchasing, and installing industrial automation equipment and systems. This role will also support manufacturing facilities with troubleshooting, controls optimization, and process improvement initiatives while contributing to future automation projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and draft controls and automation elements related to capital projects and equipment upgradesDevelop and modify PLC ladder logic for new and existing equipmentPerform HMI development and interface design using platforms such as FactoryTalk and IgnitionSupport basic industrial network and computer system design, including Ethernet/IP, virtualization, and gateway systemsDesign control cabinets and assist with power distribution and controls integrationCoordinate with vendors and manufacturers to source materials, obtain quotations, and manage delivery schedulesMaintain engineering documentation and drawingsProvide technical support to manufacturing facilities globallyParticipate in troubleshooting, maintenance support, and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure all work complies with company safety standards and proceduresQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered2–7 years of engineering experience in industrial automation or controls environmentsStrong PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley systems (PLC5, SLC, ControlLogix)Experience with SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD ElectricalHMI design experience, preferably with FactoryTalk and IgnitionKnowledge of Ethernet/IP and industrial networking best practicesProgramming experience with Python and JavaUnderstanding of plant power distribution systems and industrial controlsProject engineering and/or project management experience preferredStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to balance detailed technical execution with broader project objectivesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range: $110,000–$120,000Strong 401(k) plan with up to 4% company match plus an additional automatic 3% company contributionCompany-funded HSA contributions of up to $2,000 annually for family coveragePreventive medical care and many preventive prescriptions covered at 100% in-networkEarn up to $400 yearly through wellness programs and healthy activity incentivesCompany-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverageTuition reimbursement for undergraduate and graduate coursework related to career growth#EEM
