Wireless Network Technician

*About the Position:* Potrero Wireless is seeking a reliable and technically skilled *Wireless Network Technician* to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of our fixed wireless internet network serving rural homes and businesses. The technician will perform field installations, evaluate customer locations for wireless connectivity, install and configure subscriber radio equipment, troubleshoot network and Wi-Fi issues, and provide professional technical support to local customers. *Key Responsibilities:* * Install and configure fixed wireless subscriber radios and related network equipment at customer properties. * Perform coverage and line-of-sight assessments before new installations. * Install, route, and test network cabling, mounting hardware, and customer-premises equipment. * Configure routers, wireless access points, and other customer networking equipment. * Troubleshoot connectivity, signal-strength, latency, and Wi-Fi performance issues. * Diagnose hardware, cabling, configuration, and wireless communication problems. * Conduct service calls and maintenance visits at residential and commercial customer locations. * Test wireless links and verify that installations meet required performance standards. * Maintain accurate records of installations, equipment, service calls, and network issues. * Explain basic equipment operation and troubleshooting procedures to customers. * Escalate complex network problems when additional engineering support is required. * Follow safety procedures when working with outdoor equipment, ladders, mounting systems, and cabling. * Assist with network upgrades, equipment replacements, and service expansions. * Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while working in the field. *Requirements:* * High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or networking certification is a plus. * Previous experience in wireless networking, telecommunications, ISP installation, or field service is preferred. * Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, routers, and wireless networking. * Ability to troubleshoot hardware and connectivity problems independently. * Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to customer locations. * Ability to work with hand tools, networking equipment, cabling, and mounting hardware. * Good communication and customer-service skills. * Ability to work safely on ladders and around outdoor installations. * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
