Human Resources Information System Analyst

JOB STATEMENT: The Human Resources Generalist (HRIS, Benefits & Compensation) plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s people strategy through effective management of HR systems, employee benefits programs, and compensation administration. This role ensures data integrity, regulatory compliance (with a strong emphasis on California labor laws), and a high-quality employee experience.This position partners closely with HR leadership, payroll, finance, and external vendors to deliver accurate reporting, competitive compensation practices, and compliant, cost-effective benefits programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:HRIS Administration & Data AnalyticsServe as the primary administrator for the ADP Human Resources Information System (HRIS)Maintain and audit employee data within ADP for accuracy, completeness, and complianceManage ADP system workflows including onboarding, job changes, compensation updates, and terminationsGenerate and analyze HR metrics and reports from ADP (headcount, turnover, compensation trends, benefits utilization)Support ADP system configurations, enhancements, and integrations (payroll, benefits, timekeeping)Partner with ADP support and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and optimize functionalityDevelop dashboards and reporting tools leveraging ADP data for HR and executive leadershipEnsure data governance, security, and confidentiality standards within ADP are consistently maintainedBenefit AdministrationAdminister all employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plansAct as the primary liaison with benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party administratorsManage open enrollment process including planning, communications, system setup, and employee supportEnsure compliance with ACA, COBRA/Cal-COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirementsReconcile benefit invoices and coordinate with payroll for accurate deductionsSupport leave of absence processes (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA/FEHA)Respond to employee inquiries and provide education on benefit offeringsGenerate and analyze HR metrics and reports from ADP (headcount, turnover, compensation trends, benefits utilization)Support ADP system configurations, salary analysis using compensation surveysMaintain salary structures, pay ranges, and job classificationsEnsure compliance with California Equal Pay Act and FLSA classificationsManage compensation changes including merit increases, promotions, and adjustmentsAssist in preparing compensation reports and analytics for leadershipSupport pay equity reviews and internal auditsCompliance & HR OperationsEnsure compliance with California wage and hour laws including overtime and meal/rest breaksMaintain HR policies related to benefits and compensationSupport internal and external audits (benefits, payroll, HRIS data)Assist with regulatory reporting such as EEO-1 and ACA filingsPartner with HR leadership on process improvements and best practicesEmployee Support & ExperienceServe as a point of contact for employee questions related to HRIS, benefits, and compensationProvide training to employees and managers on ADP and HR programsSupport onboarding processes related to benefits enrollment and HRIS accessPromote a positive employee experience through responsive and accurate HR supportQUALIFICATIONS:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred3–5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on HRIS, benefits, and compensationExperience in a California employment environment strongly preferredTechnical SkillsHands-on experience with ADP HRISStrong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)Experience with HR reporting and analyticsKnowledge & ExpertiseStrong understanding of benefits administration and complianceKnowledge of compensation structures and benchmarkingUnderstanding of California labor laws and federal employment
