Job DescriptionWhat We’re Looking For:Michael Baker International is seeking a Proposal Specialist II to support our data center sector and work collaboratively with technical leads to prepare winning proposals and presentations. The Proposal Specialist II will partner with the Sector Lead and Capture Managers to jointly lead marketing efforts, the development of proposals and interviews within the company’s best practices framework. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and organized and possesses project management, writing, and page layout skills. He/she is skilled in working with a team to formulate a pursuit’s strategic messages. The successful candidate will have leadership qualities and demonstrate a collaborative mindset, superior communication skills, problem solving ability, organizational skills, and transparency. They will be a strategic thinker and will push the status quo for continuous improvement.What You’ll DoSupport the preparation of proposals, client presentations, client development activities and marketing initiatives.Facilitate proposal kick off meetings that define expectationsReview client RFPs, identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to the proposal schedule by the capture teamFacilitate strategy discussions and collaborate with capture team to develop strategy and win themesSchedule and facilitate proposal review meetingsCoordinate receipt and submission of bidder RFIs to the client and distribution of responses/RFP addenda to the capture teamDevelop page layout and manage proposal documentsLead the team in the development of visual and written content for proposals; draft and/or edit proposal narrative as necessaryCommunicate and coordinate status with the proposal teamCoordinate final internal approval process and submission of proposal with capture managerFollow-up on proposal status with client’s procurement manager as appropriateWhat You Need To SucceedMinimum qualificationsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience6-8 years of experience in the planning, preparation, and development of architectural and engineering proposals and qualifications packages for government and private clientsFamiliarity with the AEC industry and the data center marketExperience with graphic design/layout and Adobe InDesignIntermediate to expert skills with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong project management skillsStrong interpersonal communication skillsAbility to focus on details as well as on the big pictureOrganizational conceptual thinking skillsEffective decision making skillsTime management skills; ability to manage, organize, and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlinesExceptional writing, editing, and document organization skillsPreferred qualificationsExperience with the mission critical/data center marketExperience with proposal database software Deltek VisionCompensationThe approximate compensation range for this position $86,359 - $124,697 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
