INDOOR RECREATION SPECIALIST I - Spenard Rec Center - Seasonal - Range 7 / AMEA
: Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and aresubject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.DEPARTMENT:Parks and RecreationHOURS OF WORK:Hours vary; Monday through Saturday; between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.LOCATION(S):2020 W 48th Ave*These are seasonal, positions (working 30 hours per week), and will end approximately six (6) months after date of hire.*Employees who are initially hired for any Seasonal position shall be placed at Step 3, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per PandP 40-40.To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.: Under supervision, the Indoor Recreation Specialist I, provides leadership and functional supervision to recreation and volunteer participants. Works primarily indoors at the Fairview Recreation Center, leading and organizing daily program and facility activities and performs related work as required. Provides excellent customer service in-person, via telephone and e-mail. Performs other duties as assigned.: - High school diploma, GED, or equivalentandthreemonths experience leading, directing, supervising, coaching, or teaching children and/or adults at a recreation facility, a childcare facility, a childcare program, camps, educational institutions, therapeutic recreational programs, team, organized youth programs, orother similar programs.All Applicants Must Possess Or Obtain American Red Cross First Aid and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire. Satisfactory completion of a national criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160 and AS 12.62.400).
