Swim Instructor IIIStarting Hourly Rate: $19.15Instructs swimming and water safety skills for children and adults according to City of Ann Arbor standards. Responsible for the supervision of structured class activities for a small group of students or for individual private lessons. Will routinely act as a lead instructor for a particular pool and may assist with the organization and implementation of instructional swim programs at multiple pools, including program registration procedures, student skill assessment, training and supervision of other swim instructors, and program evaluation.Employees will have an opportunity for Lifeguard certification reimbursement up to $200 upon working a minimum of 200 hours.Required QualificationsIf hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than their start date or have a City of Ann Arbor approved medical / religious exemptionKnowledge of instructional methods for teaching swimming and water safety skills to groups and individualsAt least two years of swim instruction experience and one year of swim program administration requiredMust obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division.
