Expects all of the above from their coworkers and the organization they work for. Job Duties Fill and verify medication orders for dispensing. Complete comprehension and efficiency of pharmacy operating software. Perform medication reviews for interactions and patient safety. Instruct patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and inform them about potential side effects they may experience from taking the medicine. Advise patients about general health topics, such as diet, exercise, and managing stress, and on other issues, such as what equipment or supplies would be best to treat a health problem. Give flu shots and other vaccinations as needed. Deliver Primary Care Pharmacist Services such as Point of Care Testing Participate in Collaborative Practice Arrangements Utilize Pharmacy Dispensing and Electronic Health Record Systems Document Services via electronic Care Plans Coordinate Care with Patient's Healthcare Team Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in training (interns.) Keep records and do other administrative tasks. Teach other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies for patients. Monitor and assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Develop a positive environment for our staff and our patients/customer. Be an approachable and helpful member of the pharmacy team About Us We're an independently-owned group of community and long-term care pharmacies, a DME supplier and a Direct Primary Care clinic located in central Missouri. We work within our communities to improve health outcomes and address health disparities through partnered programs, clinical medication synchronization, adherence packaging, immunizations, point-of-care testing, comprehensive and targeted medication reviews, long-term care consulting and coordination of care. Working with us allows you to pursue the activities pharmacists were trained to do, support and inform practice expansion while also working a bit differently to help achieve company goals and patient health outcomes. Simply put, we don't just put pills in bottles fast, cheap and accurately. We're interested in transformative change in pharmacy practice and are looking for those that can think outside the box and generate revenue sufficient to prove to patients, healthcare provider and payers that pharmacists are worthy of the investment and partnership.
