As a leading agency in the state, we focus on enhancing health and wellness through comprehensive healthcare, education, advocacy, and the support of research to transform lives.Commitment to Organizational CultureMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work productively, effectively, and efficiently with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.Position SummaryThe Director of Development will spend 70% of their time overseeing all fundraising events, campaigns, and activities in the market area. The priority for this role is new business development, stakeholder engagement, and increasing the corporate donor portfolio and associated fundraising revenue. The Director is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating community development fundraising activities in the assigned market.Additionally, 30% of this role will be dedicated to supporting Client Engagement Programs and activities with the goal of expanding patient programs, outreach, and services to families within the market area.Annual Strategic ProgrammingOur organization operates an annual summer camp program for children and teens. Camp is an agency-wide strategic priority; therefore, all exempt employees must participate. This may include duties at the camp facility, assisting with camper transportation, and overnight travel. PTO requests during the week of camp are generally not approved to ensure full organizational support for our clients.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree is required.Experience: Minimum five (5) years of non-profit development experience.Fundraising Expertise: Proven success in leading non-profit fundraising campaigns, corporate solicitation, and special event execution.Project Management: Experience in goal setting, strategic planning, and the evaluation of quality improvement for programs and campaigns.Independence: Ability to work without supervision, use independent judgment, and make appropriate decisions.Communication: High level of interpersonal skills to manage sensitive situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Donor Database software (e.g., Salesforce, Classy).Logistics: Must provide own vehicle and be willing to travel as required. Ability to stand for multiple hours and lift/carry 30 pounds.Essential FunctionsStrategic Growth: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop annual fundraising goals and design comprehensive marketing strategies.Market Expansion: Support the increase of patient programs and coordinate activities for families in the identified market area.Revenue Generation: Identify and acquire new funding resources; seek new corporate/foundation sources while maintaining relationships with current donors.Event Management: Successfully manage logistics for all relevant events, including golf tournaments, 5K runs, and corporate social events.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with volunteer committees and represent the organization in meetings with potential funding sources.Communications: Work with the Communications Team to develop materials to promote patient programs and fundraising events.Financial Oversight: Develop budgets and schedules for fundraising events and provide routine updates on progress toward goals.Data Management: Maintain accurate donor records and participate in the development of the organization’s strategic plan.Additional ResponsibilitiesMaintain active involvement in professional organizations such as the Area Chamber of Commerce, Association of Fundraising Professionals, or the Council of Volunteer Administrators.
