First-Party Property Litigation Paralegal
Payne Law is a growing plaintiffs' firm in Winter Park, Florida, fighting for homeowners and businesses whose property insurance claims have been wrongfully denied or underpaid. We are looking for a sharp, experienced First-Party Property Litigation Paralegal who knows the insurance defense playbook, and knows how to beat it.Job Description:Be the primary point of contact for clients on assigned property damage cases (hurricane, wind, water, fire, and more), keeping them informed from intake through resolutionManage a high-volume litigation caseload alongside two attorneysDraft and file motions, notices, discovery (interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs), proposed orders, and proposals for settlementTrack and calendar all statutory and court-imposed deadlinesCoordinate hearings, and assist the legal assistant with coordinating depositions, mediations, and inspections when necessaryManage two attorneys' calendars in Outlook; ensure zero missed court deadlinesLiaise with public adjusters, contractors, expert witnesses, and opposing counselHandle e-filing through Florida ePortal in compliance with local court rulesMaintain case notes, updates, and communications within the firm's case management systemObtain executed releases from opposing counsel, coordinate client review and signature, and return fully executed documents to opposing counsel in a timely mannerQualifications:3–5 years paralegal experience in civil litigation2+ years in first-party property insurance litigationPlaintiffs'-side litigation experience requiredKnowledge of Florida Rules of Civil ProcedureFamiliarity with F.S. § 624.155 and CRN requirementsExperience with FileVine, Litify, Clio, or similarProficiency in Microsoft 365 & Florida ePortalStrong drafting and written communication skillsHigh-volume, multi-attorney caseload managementAssociate's degree required; ABA certificate preferredWe are a plaintiffs' firm dedicated to holding insurance companies accountable.
