Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings promptly
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper meal timing and hygiene standards
Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or developmental disabilities through specialized memory and behavioral care techniques
Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury
Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
Document care activities accurately in resident records while respecting privacy laws such as HIPAA
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being within home or community settings
Experience
Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
Proven ability to provide patient observation, monitor vital signs, and respond effectively to medical emergencies such as CPR or first aid situations
Demonstrated competency in medication administration and understanding of care plans for individuals with dementia or disabilities
Hands-on experience with home health or hospice care environments preferred
Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism, or memory impairments is advantageous
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and assisting with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
