Sr. Manager, Field Engineering – Financial Services Locations: Illinois; Massachusetts; New York; Virginia (remote candidates welcome, preference for Northeast or Midwest hubs). Mission Reporting to the Director of Field Engineering, the Sr. Manager will lead a team of Solutions Architects within the Regulated Industries Field Engineering team, focusing on enterprise software, big data, analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing, and generative AI. The role partners with Sales and other technical segments to drive revenue and customer success with Databricks' Data Intelligence Platform. Impact You Will Have Hire, train, and grow a high-performing team of Solutions Architects. Deliver outsized value to customers, helping them achieve success with Databricks. Maintain a hiring pipeline of highly qualified, bar-raising candidates. Build relationships across the business to support customers and the team. Keep the team ahead of the technology curve with advanced knowledge of Databricks stack. Foster continuous learning and provide comprehensive solutions to customer needs. What We Look For Proven experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams—hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring to develop high-performing individuals and team players. 10+ years in the data space (data warehousing, big data, machine learning, generative AI). Trusted advisor to technical executives on strategic data infrastructure decisions. Lead teams through technical qualification, validation, architecture discussions, and product demos. Establish and nurture external partnerships with systems integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs). Strong understanding of consumption-driven business models and long-term growth strategies. Track record of hiring and developing talent for growth into larger roles. Create a positive culture, fostering collaboration between Field Engineering, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success. Strong technical competence to earn the trust of engineering leaders. Ability to influence and review complex architectures, guiding teams and customers toward scalable, ideal solutions. Pay Range Transparency Local Pay Range: $192,100 — $264,175 USD (actual compensation includes base salary, potential bonus, equity, and benefits).
