All of our products are backed by complete technical support that ensures quality, reliability, and value.We are seeking a Regulatory and Material Science Specialist to help ensure compliance with chemical regulations governing the development, manufacturing, and sale of Americhem products. This role is responsible for evaluating chemicals for potential hazards and safeguarding employees, customers, and the environment from harm. The Specialist maintains strong knowledge of raw materials used in the thermoplastics industry, including polymers, colorants, and additives.ResponsibilitiesRaw Material ManagementRaw material review and assign internal codes for new raw materials while maintaining up-to-date technical information, regulatory information and SDSs for raw materials currently used by AmerichemReviewing SDS for safe use and handling by manufacturing sites globally and ensuring that raw material usage complies with all regulations to determine technical suitability and safe use at AmerichemCapture regulatory and technical information obtained through various references, in addition to communicating with colleagues, to maintain a centralized databases or repository of information on Americhem raw materialsRegulatory ResponsibilitiesMaintains Documentation for requests and other correspondence from regulatory agencies and customers, completing customer specific regulatory compliance reports / documents including California Prop 65, Animal Derived Materials, Antimicrobials, Conflict Minerals, Food Contact Compliance (global), Material Disclosures, NSF, REACH compliance and SVHCs, Restricted Substance Lists, RoHS, SARA 313, and TSCA for global customersRegulatory responsibility by monitoring legislative activity, regulatory requirements, and communicating potential impact on the business for issues associated with product compliance, hazardous materials, safety data labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Determine and communicate chemical regulatory compliance of Americhem products to internal and external customersQualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required2+ years of relevant work in Regulatory, Environmental Health and Safety, or a Masterbatch/Compounding thermoplastic formulating positionStrong technical and regulatory knowledge of materials used in the thermoplastic masterbatch and compounding industry, including polymers, pigments, and additives preferredDesired Qualities/AttributesDemonstrate strong interpersonal skills, working independently and collaboratively while effectively delegating responsibilitiesExhibit attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to meet deadlinesCommunicate effectively through technical writing and verbal communicationContribute to team and company goals while upholding company principles and policiesSupport others in achieving job results and driving continuous improvement initiativesFollow all Quality System and safety protocols, including safe equipment operation, proper PPE use, completion of safety training, and supporting the goal of zero accidents.Maintain attendance standardsServe as a liaison to business leaders and global subject matter experts, ensuring compliance as new products are developed and regulations evolve, including updating plans, interpreting business impact, and overseeing implementation
