Shipping Supervisor

Join our Distribution Center and be the driving force for our store's merchandise!Location: Distribution Center, 3755 W Sunset Road, Suite A, Las Vegas, NV 89118Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - FridayPay$55,000-$60,000 annuallyThe Shipping Supervisor leads and develops the outbound team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and cost-effective order processing and shipment of merchandise. This hands-on role oversees all outbound functions—including, packing, shipping, and outbound quality control—while driving operational excellence through industry best practices and continuous process improvement. The outbound manager is accountable for meeting productivity and efficiency KPIs, implementing workflow improvements, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. This role is responsible for actively leading, coaching, and mentoring team members to achieve and sustain exceptional individual and team performance.This position will support our RDC and NDC teams This role is based out of Las Vegas, NV.Job ResponsibilitiesDaily oversight of drivers and dock staffDaily oversight and participation in the timely loading and unloading of shipments in and out of dock areaEnsure sound safety and risk policies and procedures through all areas of operationAssist in training/development, and staffing of staffOversee assigned inventory of loading materialsCheck drivers in and out of warehouse in accordance with operational policies and proceduresProvide recommendations on Capital Expenditure and planningDrive teamwork and communication between all operations leadershipAssists other department heads as neededDeliver inventory between warehouses or other locations as neededPerforms other duties as assignedSupervise daily processes on the dock and in other facilities.Review, coach, and develop the outbound associates.Monitoring work, adherence to policy and safety requirements.Issuing discipline when necessary.Interprets company policies for employees, enforce safety and security regulations, and holds daily pre-shift meetings.Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.Prepare work schedulesSpot check orders for accuracy and quality.Pulling critical care orders or double-checking them for quality and accuracyInspects material handling equipment daily for safe operations and coordinates required repairs with the maintenance department.Job Requirements2+ years of transportation or shipping and private fleet experienceCertification required to operate lift trucks or electric pallet jacks.Safely operate other DC equipment such as pallet jacks, rental scissor lifts, hand trucks1+ years of supervisory or team leader experienceAbove average knowledge of Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and people skillsDesire to work as a team with a results driven approachAbility to multitask and problem solveSatisfactory Criminal Background Check and Drug Testing requiredOvertime and weekend work may be requiredValid Driver's licenseOSHA Safety and/or DOT experience (Preferred)Additional RequirementsLimited sittingFrequent standing, walking, climbing, crouching, bending, pushing, or pullingNormal or corrected vision and hearingCan distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materialsFluency in English is required for training, customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresOccasionally outdoorsFrequently exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 90 degreesLift up to 50 lbs.Use of fine motor hand functionsWe can't wait to meet you so apply today!WH Smith is a leading global travel retailer with over 1,700 stores across 30 countries worldwide.
