Second Shift Supervisor
Overview
Meyer Plastics is currently seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Supervisor to join our highly skilled team. The pay for this position is $20-25/hr depending on experience. The 2nd Shift Supervisor is a full-time position with a shift from 3pm-11:30pm. This employee will be given thorough training enabling them to be a successful team member. This team member will report to the Production Supervisor and work closely with the Production Manager to maintain a smooth flow of product and material in all departments.

General Duties
Facilitates production by directing personnel in job assignment, workflow, quality control, and training.
Specific Duties
Start up shift by assigning team members to the various production work centers
Must arrive early before shifts to discuss work centers assignment of members with management
Make sure the operator(s) have a clear understanding of the work, can operate in a safe manner, and understands the quality and quantity requirements
Make sure that the equipment is functioning correctly
Complete first article inspection of each work center at the start of the shift following up with hourly checks
Oversee shop floor as instructed by Management
Keep production flow interruptions minimize by coordinating team
Train operators on new and current procedures and techniques.
Practice lean manufacturing strategies to improve production procedures.
Adjust molds, fixtures, or machines based on hourly quality checks throughout the shift
Notify Management of any problems which might translate into a delivery delay or quality issue
Document any approved improvements made to process plans.
Deal with problems in safety, quality, and production schedule of employees through coaching and correction
Facilitate set-up of all machines as needed
Make sure all employees are wearing correct PPE
Perform proactive housekeeping procedures
Document problems or adjustment on production paperwork for traceability so the next shift can see what adjustments have been made to the machine and what problems occurred
Ability to start up and shut down the facility and machines
Quality Control
Check, approve, and document 1st article inspection of each part
Hourly quality checks of all parts being made and sign off on inspection sheet
Make sure every employee understands the quality expectations of their work center
Document and inform management of any major quality issues
Safety and Security
Be aware and correct unsafe work habits of team members, unsafe working conditions, and report them to Production Management
Report any unusual behavior by production employees to management or HR.
Be sure no production employees are using cell phones while in the production area/around machinery.
Time Management
Make sure employee reports to assigned work center promptly and has all required paperwork and hardware to complete the task
If a work center is not fully set up or stops production for any reason make sure the operator has back up work to limit idle time
Enforce proper clock-in/out by all employees so that timecards are correct
Inform management of unique circumstances that causes an employee to clock-in/out from normal shift times
Recordkeeping
Review process plans to ensure accuracy and recommended changes that may improve efficiency
Maintain set-up guides
Make sure the operator is properly recording labor time and good/scrap parts
Verify thermoforming operator is recording hourly sheet and mold temperatures
Approve submitted labor sheets
Requirements
Perform any other duties and/or assignments requested by the Management of Meyer Plastics. Must be willing to Job shift, come in early, stay over, and or work overtime with little to no notice.
