Control Wireman

We’re looking for a Control Wireman who’s ready to support the functionality and safety of high-voltage substations. You’ll perform hands-on wiring and testing, read electrical schematics, and install and maintain control systems with precision and accuracy. If you thrive in dynamic environments, understand the importance of safety, and enjoy being part of critical infrastructure projects, we want to hear from you.What You’ll Do:Install, maintain, and repair control wiring and high-voltage substation equipmentInterpret complex blueprints and schematics to complete control layouts and terminationsCut, route, and terminate wiring using precision tools to ensure safe and functional installationsConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, relays, and associated control panelsUse test equipment (e.g., multimeters, meggers) to verify continuity, proper connections, and performanceInspect installed systems to identify defects, hazards, or operational issuesTrain and guide less experienced technicians on safety protocols and wiring best practicesRespond to emergency repair needs to restore power or correct hazardous conditionsFollow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areasThe Experience We’re Looking For:2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical wiring or related substation workWorking knowledge of control systems, circuitry, and wiring practicesProficiency in reading electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematicsAdditional Requirements:Travel frequently (minimum 75%) with overnight staysSuccessfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug testsValid driver’s licenseLegally authorized to work in the United StatesBonus Points For:Completion of a trade school program, technical college, associate degree, or skilled trade certificationPrior experience working in substations or transmission projectsIntermediate or advanced troubleshooting skills using electrical testing equipmentWhy Join RMS EnergyWe’re not just another power services company.
