Our people make the remarkable possible through an unwavering display of uncommon commitment each day.Reporting to the Practice Executive, the Client Development Representative (CDR) role helps to create opportunities where none exist. They are a connector, researcher, relationship builder and a relentless go-getter who can see the link between client needs, market activity and DI's unique capabilities. Success in this role requires curiosity, collaboration, initiative, persistence and resilience, plus, the ability to turn market and/or networking insights into qualified business leads.CDRs will be paid based on salary plus incentive on projects found and specifically assigned.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:Generates qualified sales leads and pursuits across defined market(s)Sources new sales opportunities through outbound phone calls, emails, inbound leads, follow-ups, conference attendance, networking events and moreWorks to set up qualified FIT calls that meet at least 3 or 4 elements of BAST (Budget, Authority, Project Scope, Project Timeline) and are good pursuits for DIManages a pipeline of inbound and self-sourced leads to identify, engage, and develop relationships with potential buyersResearches potential new projects by reading articles, databases, and industry publicationsUses generative AI platforms and data analysis tools to streamline lead qualification, uncover decision-makers, and prioritize business development outreach effortsMonitors industry trends, construction pipelines, RFPs, and client activity using AI-driven insights to proactively identify new business opportunitiesUpdates accounts, contacts, and information in SalesforceConducts qualifying calls with prospective clients using the Sandler Selling System to identify client pain and learn more about the client/project Maintains and provides weekly FIT call and pipeline contribution reportsPrepares campaign and sequence cadences and other sales information for clients and prospective clientsCreates and updates a "playbook" of strategies for seeking high-impact projectsWorks closely with the Sales team and the Marketing team to create effective strategies and tactics for obtaining qualified opportunitiesPartners with the Marketing, Design, and Creative teams to execute sales strategy as DI introduces new capabilities and/or unveils new clients/projectsProactively seeks, connects with, and presents to key decision makers (director, executive, etc.) within prospective client organizationsParticipates in client meetings, presentations, conference calls, and attends designated trade showsEducates and guides prospects through the buyer's journey to demonstrate how DI can help clients create better experiencesBrings unique thinking, strategies, and ideas to advance DI's values, unique culture, and vision for the futureServes as primary client contact for new service projects and other small job requests for key accountsKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESKnowledge or interest in experiential design, technology, construction and/or architecture business developmentExperience creating qualified pipeline through networking, referrals and industry event engagementKnowledge utilizing AI-powered business development and sales prospecting platforms to proactively develop qualified leadsDemonstrated experience engaging executive decision-makers and leading business conversations with senior-level stakeholdersStrong drive to meet or exceed sales goalsSuccessfully and consistently apply strategic thinking skills and sound strategy that generate resultsProven research skillsAbility to creatively identify ways to find new business growth opportunitiesAbility to follow direction and take constructive criticismExceptional time management and organization skillsAbility to deliver top-notch presentations and to represent DI's capabilities and value proposition to prospectsPassionate about storytelling and the ability to tailor your approach to "sell DI" on a variety of platformsExcellent sense of collaboration with various teamsAbility to professionally build and maintain rapport across a broad client audienceCan thrive comfortably in a fast-paced environmentEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a similar degree or equivalent work experience required2-5 years experience in business development, strategic sales, client engagement or similar rolesExperience engaging and managing executive-level stakeholders and outreach is a plusPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawlThe employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusEmployee must be able to talk and hearWORK ENVIRONMENTDue to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
