Our team produces everything from precision-crafted components to complex enclosures, serving a wide range of customer applications in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.Job DescriptionThe Powder Coater applies electrostatic powder coatings to sheet metal parts using manual spray guns and automated coating booths. Responsibilities include cleaning, masking, and hanging parts, applying powder evenly, curing parts in ovens, inspecting finished products for quality, and maintaining equipment. Attention to detail and knowledge of powder coating processes are essential to meet production and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate powder coating equipment (manual and automated)Apply coatings using electrostatic spray methods for consistent finishesOperate curing ovens, adjusting settings per specificationsPerform water sampling/testing for quality control during pre-treatment wash stagePrepare and load sheet metal parts on conveyor systems ensuring proper groundingSelect and verify powder types based on specificationsInspect finished products with visual checks and gauges for qualityMaintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance recordsTroubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenanceFollow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentRequired Skills & ExperienceMinimum 3 years of powder coating experienceBasic knowledge of powder coating and surface preparationStrong visual inspection skillsUnderstanding of material handlingAbility to follow verbal instructions and work in a teamMechanical aptitude and comfort with coating equipmentHigh attention to detail and reliabilityPreferredSSPC or PCI CertificationKnowledge of PLC, HMI, or other automation programmingExperience in sheet metal manufacturingPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAble to stand, bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periodsComfortable working in hot and cold conditionsAble to pass general physical and respirator medical evaluationWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
