HR Generalist, Entry
Job Purpose: Supports daily Human Resources operations, focusing on maintaining employee records, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, ensuring compliance with labor laws, enforcing company policies and procedures, workers’ compensation, and assisting with employee relations. Essential Functions:Partners with designated client groups to determine human resources needs.Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Processes background checks and employee eligibility verifications.Manages new hire onboarding, orientation, and conducts exit interviews.Administers routine human resources tasks, benefits, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and performance management.Assists with employee relations and investigations.Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors and refers complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws such as EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc. by reviewing policies and procedures. Stays current on human resources trends, talent management strategies, evolving labor laws, and emerging industry tech.Maintains open communication with other human resources team members to ensure the success of the entire department.Maintains and updates the Employee Information Systems (HRIS) and personnel files.Participates in recruiting events.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Required Qualifications:3 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.Good verbal and written communication skills.Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize and complete tasks.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and talent management platforms.Must be able to speak English.Preferred Qualifications:· Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.· SHRM-CP or PHR Certification.· Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.· Bilingual in Spanish, including the ability to translate verbally and in writing (required for Torrance).Physical Requirements:Will require sitting in front of a computer 75% of the time or more and the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. to waist level. Frequent motion of hand, wrist, and fingers due to typing, writing and phone handling daily. Occasionally, ascends/descends stairs, walks and bends when filing.
