The installation operates in a high-tempo, austere desert environment where medical services must align with real-world operational demands. EMS leadership plays a critical role in ensuring rapid response, clinical excellence, and seamless integration with military command structures.Location : Fort Irwin, CA 92310ResponsibilitiesProvide operational and clinical leadership for all EMS personnel supporting Fort Irwin NTCOversee daily ambulance operations , staffing, scheduling, and deployment readinessEnsure compliance with local, state (California EMSA), and federal/DoD standardsServe as the primary liaison with military leadership , integrating EMS into training and mission operationsLead quality assurance / quality improvement (QA/QI) programs and clinical performance oversightSupervise and mentor EMTs and paramedics, ensuring training, credentialing, and readinessCoordinate emergency response planning for large-scale training exercises and mass casualty scenariosMaintain equipment readiness, vehicle compliance, and supply chain managementSupport after-action reviews (AARs) and continuous operational improvement initiativesEnsure accurate documentation, reporting, and regulatory complianceQualificationsRequiredCurrent EMT or Paramedic certification (California or ability to obtain reciprocity)Minimum 3 7+ years EMS experience , with leadership or supervisory experienceStrong understanding of prehospital emergency care, protocols, and field operationsExperience in high-tempo or austere environmentsValid driver's licensePreferredPrior U.S. Army, National Guard, or military medical experience (68W strongly preferred)Previous experience as EMS Supervisor, Field Training Officer (FTO), or Clinical LeadFamiliarity with DoD systems, ICS, and mass casualty responseCertifications such as ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS, or NREMT-PExperience supporting remote sites, industrial EMS, or government contracts
